Artist's Comments

Jeez, I started on this weeks ago, colored it that same day, revised it last week, and finished just a few moments ago. Again, lots of experimenting. I really had no idea where I was taking this, I just wanted to use quick strokes for the shading.

I'm a little happy with certain parts of this but I'm actually a little disappointed with myself. I need to work on my technique more in the future.

:: EDIT 01 ::
Didn't realize how silly the close-up looked until :icondykrentsu: pointed out a couple of errors. Instead of just redoing shit, I just shifted the image over so that it looks less awkward.

Also changed a few layer styles.

The coloring is still awesome C; and I love how she's glowing a bit, or is that the lighting, or is it just me? But awesome job either way!

Good lord! Man brah, this is one heckova piece here. The colors are awesome as usual and the lighting and contrasts are quite balanced. The style of this character is beyond awesome and the texture are far too real. Sick work dude.

Awesome. Your coloring skills are getting 1337er all the time.

Experimenting is great. Some good things came out of this. For the pros, the vibrant colors and glow effects are brilliant. Everything has a warm glow to it, and it's overall a very pleasant thing to look at. The shading of the hair in the close-up is also really cool, it shows the layers of the hair and so forth more.

For the cons, the addition of very gradual shading makes it look like it should appear more 3-dimensional, but the repeat of base colors, as done with the 2D style, flattens parts, but not all, of the picture. This flattening is most prominent in the hair, the face and neck, and the front of the shirt. Perhaps it's just the angle of light, or the way it's shaded in general, that is doing this, but I can see this gradated style working. It's definitely worth trying a few different things with it.

I'm right behind you

Definitely, I focused too much on experimenting than I did to the consistency of the picture.

Thanks for the critique.
